Grant Guidelines
The Fund supports a range of strategies including organizing, public education, research, litigation, and legislative and regulatory reform. Emphasis is given to engaging new constituencies in media policy debates and creating coordinated strategies with existing groups and efforts.
Due to limited resources and strategic focus on media policy issues within the United States, The Fund does not at this time accept proposals for international projects or such work as documentary filmmaking and unrelated communications campaigns, though we value this work.
Annual Grant Making
If, after reviewing a list of our current grantees, you feel your project is a good fit for The Fund, please e-mail a brief description of your proposal to Helen Brunner. If you are a current grantee applying for a renewal, please e-mail Beery Adams Jiménez for proposal guidelines and submission procedures. Renewals are competitive and not guaranteed. The next deadline is September 7, 2011.
Rapid Response Fund
Our Rapid Response Fund is designed to address media policy opportunities or threats outside of our regular grant cycles. Projects must be timely in nature. Funds are limited and are not available for organizational emergencies or ongoing projects more suitable for regular grant consideration. Contact Helen Brunner for more information.
No unsolicited proposals or phone inquiries, please.
